[Mini thread] I went last week to the Naval Group shipyard in Lorient to see progress on the very first FDI Frigate. I had the chance to "get aboard" Amiral Ronarc'h, the FDI #1 for the French Navy 🇫🇷. Up-close, the shape of the bridge is interesting, almost futuristic 👇 pic.twitter.com/b4KdZnu5kn

The hull was fully assembled a few weeks ago now and it took Naval Group just five months. Quite a feat, especially for a first ship-in-class. Most if not all of the structures (bridge, helicopter hangar...) were in place, even the engines but not the shaft lines pic.twitter.com/Er4aColMDQ

During my tour aboard the FDI, there was not much to see as outfitting work is still very much underway. Apart for the hangar and helicopter deck, most spaces feel more compact compared to a FREMM (bridge, CIC, Kitchen...) but I was expecting it (6,000 tons vs. 4,500). pic.twitter.com/SdvMx5DXGy

For my 🇬🇷 followers now 😀👇

These are all blocks and elements of the FDI HN #1 👍 Last two pics show the "arm holding the shaft line at the stern" and a section of the bow (upside down): pic.twitter.com/i79hgSpBAO
